Today's late edition of Favorite Song Wednesday is dedicated to The Whispers.
Dear The Whispers,
Would you like to play my birthday party?
"It's a Love Thing" is the tune that caught my ear, then I realized they've got a pretty smoking catalog of singles and two decades of chart-topping longevity.
The Whispers - It's a Love Thing (divshare)
BONUS:
The Whispers - Rock Steady
DOUBLE BONUS:
The Whispers - And The Beat Goes On...
(This track hit #1 on the U.S. charts and #2 in the U.K. in 1979.)
TRIPLE BONUS:
Will Smith sampled The Whispers for Caribbean-flavored smoker Miami.
